With over 30 years experience in the antiques trade, Peter E. Baker Antiques has helped build many collections by listening to our clients, understanding their needs and searching out desired objects. We can work within budgets at any level, offering a variety of services.

Consultation:

We are available to assist clients in furnishing/decorating a particular environment, building a unique collection or advising on individual purchases. Some clients engage our services to act on their behalf to preserve their anonymity while others seek us out to provide a professional assessment prior to making a major acquisition. Whether from our inventory or in the marketplace, when selecting items for a client we ensure that it meets their needs while also weighing the object’s merits from an artistic, historical, technical and value point-of-view.

Acquisition:

Peter E. Baker Antiques is always interested in purchasing objects of distinction and character.

Collection dispersal:

We purchase single items and collections, sell select items on a consignment basis or recommend alternative means of collection dispersal – all in the interest of maximizing the return to the seller as expeditiously as possible.

Appraisals/Evaluations:

We provide appraisal services for insurance, estate or donation purposes.
Peter Baker has provided evaluation services for major museum donations as well as individual items and estates. Our fee is not based on values assigned – we charge a competitive per diem rate for this service.
